Plastic or Metal Fire Buckets
- Often an essential component of workplace fire safety facilities, a fire bucket is a bucket which should be kept at hand and filled with water or sand to prevent or put out a fire. Usually painted in a bold red colour with 'FIRE' stencilled in white, they stand out so they can be easily and quickly found in an emergency. They also often come with a convex base, making them useless for other purposes - including misuse and theft. A low technology solution, they can be placed anywhere and intuitively used should a fire happen. Although modern firefighting techniques with foaming agents have somewhat superseded fire buckets, they are still effective and remain a preferred method for fighting small fires, depending on your workplace environment. They are cost effective, reliable, can be used by anyone easily and without training and can be quickly refilled and maintained. Choose to position them prominently at floor level, or hang them using a wall brackets. Ideal for positioning close to open flames or barbecues and in accommodation blocks, they are also commonly located in hospital hyperbaric chambers.
- Fire buckets containing sand can also be invaluable for quickly absorbing any spilt flammable liquids, reducing the risk of ignition or explosion - which is why you'll often see them around liquid fuel sources.
