High quality ear protectors (symbols) signs
- If any part of your workplace has average noise levels above 85 db, you need to take noise control measures to bring noise levels down below the required minimum. If this is not possible, due to the use of heavy machinery or temporary construction work, you must provide ear protection for all members of staff, visitors and contractors to wear.
- However, merely supplying ear defenders is not enough. Health and Safety (Sign and Signals) Regulations 1996, state that ear defender signs must be displayed in areas where noise levels could be detrimental to a person's health and wellbeing.
- These high quality ear protection (symbols) signs are designed to conform to both European ISO/EN 7010 and British Standard BS 5499. They are available in five sizes, from 50 x 50mm to 300 x 300mm, allowing them to be displayed in areas where hearing loss has been identified as a potential risk. They also have universal application fittings, so they can be mounted on or around machinery if necessary.
- We also supply hearing protection signs featuring both a symbol and a text box with the wording "hearing protection must be worn".
- These ear protector signs form part of our personal protective equipment (PPE) range. Health and Safety (Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996, state that PPE signs must be displayed in areas where work may involve any sort of physical risk to employees. So purchase this sign as a set to ensure your company complies with all PPE sign regulations.
- You can also combine this sign with our yellow noise hazard sign, for situations where a single message isn't enough. Multi-message signs like this are more effective at getting important messages across, ensuring all staff are aware of the risks and take appropriate safety precautions.
