AED photoluminescent health & safety signs
- These photoluminescent signs allow you to ensure emergency AED equipment can easily be located even in dim or dark environments. They feature an environmentally-friendly polyester film which ensures text and symbols appear white in daylight, but then glow brightly in the dark. This means that even in emergency scenarios when power may be out, it will still be possible to locate an AED.
- AEDs (automated external defibrillators) are designed to automatically monitor a patient's pulse and, if necessary, deliver controlled electric shocks to the chest to enable the heart to beat at a normal rhythm. They are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) which causes the heart to beat abnormally, usually causing the patient to lose consciousness as blood is unable to flow through the body normally. Since the chances of recovery from SCA diminish with every minute and are extremely slim after 10 minutes without treatment, delivering defibrillation quickly is absolutely crucial. AED signage such as this one can ensure that less time is wasted in locating the emergency equipment to maximise the chances of survival. It can also be helpful to provide extra resources such as an AED emergency guidance poster to allow untrained personnel to know the basic protocol of dealing with SCA.
- There are two varieties of photoluminescent signs available; rigid plastic and self-adhesive vinyl. The latter is suitable only for indoor use, but offers very easy installation since no extra fixings are required. The adhesive is incredibly strong and provides a permanent seal providing that the sign is adhered to a smooth, clean and dry surface. The rigid plastic variety must be installed with extra sign fixings (not included), but its durable nature makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
- We produce two photoluminescent implements: Xtra-Glo & Nite-Glo. Nite-Glo (PSPA Class B classification) will stay luminous for 6 hours with a recharge time of 5 minutes in normal lighting. Whereas Xtra-Glo (PSPA Class C classification) will keep gleaming for 24 hours. To ensure you are fully compliant with ISO 16069, you will need to set Xtra-Glo signage in place. Grade of luminescence is suggestive and therefore can vary based on circumstance including positioning of product or the quantity of exposed natural light in the application area.
