A black camera inside a red circle with a line through it is immediately recognisable as the sign for 'No Photography'. BS5499, the standard which deals with signage, states that anyone, even a non-native speaker, should be able to interpret the meaning behind a sign. All of our prohibition signs abide by this regulation, including the 'No Photography' one featured here.
A 'No Photography' sign has many applications, from the safeguarding of children through to the conservation of rare books or paintings and keeping industry secrets. A clear and understood sign can often forestall an awkward conversation between a member of staff and a customer or passer-by and provides a more relaxed environment for all concerned, as well as accomplishing its main objective - that of preventing the use of cameras in an area.
With both indoor and outdoor needs, all of our signs are made from durable materials which will withstand outside weather as well as being safe for use inside. They are wipe clean, so a bright readable image is always on display, and they can be easily affixed to most required surfaces, including the option of a self-adhesive vinyl sign for easy internal application.
As most mobile phones are also equipped with cameras, many people opt to include 'No Mobile Phone' signage alongside their 'No Photography' signs in order to present a clearer message. At Safetyshop, we are able to supply a full range of safety signs.
When placing your signage, be sure to choose a location which is relevant and unobstructed, and remember that people, especially members of the public, will often need reminding of some regulations. It is often recommended to place multiple 'No Photography' signs around an area to ensure they are seen and fully considered by the intended audience. It is also worth making your staff aware of any relevant signage so that they can point it out in a professional manner to any transgressors.
