Correct, clear and well-positioned signage can be crucial in the workplace, especially at times of emergency. These 'no exit' signs are particularly useful for identifying out-of-bounds areas and stopping staff and visitors alike from making the wrong choice of exit route in the event of a fire or other emergency situation. During these kinds of emergencies, it can be easy for people to panic and forget which doors lead to exits and which ones lead to other maintenance areas, leaving them potentially trapped. A 'no exit' sign clearly marks out inappropriate routes, saving time - and potentially lives - should the worst happen.
Conforming to the standards set by the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996, which state that prohibition signs are required where certain behaviour must be prohibited or access to specific areas needs to be controlled for safety reasons, these signs are clear and clean-looking. Simple to read and quickly understand, they incorporate the universally recognised symbol for prohibition (the roundel with a diagonal line through it) in arresting bright red over white for clarity, as well as the accompanying text 'No Exit'. This means that the sign can be read as quickly as possible, allowing the reader to take instant action, even in a stressful situation.
Also conforming to British Standard 5499 on signage qualities, choose from nine sizes (150 x 400mm, 210 x 148mm (A5), 297 x 210mm (A4), 300 x 500mm, 400 x 300mm, 420 x 297mm (A3), 600 x 450mm, 60 x 400mm or 75 x 600mm) so you can tailor the sign to the environment and the size of surface area you want it to adhere to. You can also select from three materials (polypropylene rigid plastic, self-adhesive rigid plastic or self-adhesive vinyl) so you can choose the right fixing method and material to match the demands of your workplace environment.
