- Ideal for fertiliser, seed, ice-melt and de-icing salt
- Makes spreading small areas easy
- Hand-crank gearbox with adjustable rate.
Our hand-held spreader makes it easy to spread small areas, whether you're spreading fertiliser, seed, ice-melt or de-icing salt. The spreader's high-speed, hand-crank gearbox makes it simple, thanks to its adjustable rate control.
With a spread width of three metres, the spreader's scoop-front design and ergonomic handles allow the user to scoop up salt out of either bins or bags and distribute it quickly and evenly.
Manufactured by Winter Xtreme, the hand-held spreader has a capacity of 3.5kg and is available in a choice of black or blue. It is manufactured from durable polyethylene, a long-lasting, hard-wearing material, with an integrated scoop.
It's particularly important, in icy weather, to minimise the risk of employees suffering from slipping accidents in outdoor areas of the workplace, so the hand-held spreader could become a vital part of your equipment in winter.
According to statistics provided by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, on average there are approximately 2,900 admissions to hospital in the UK every year as a result of people falling over on ice or snow. Anyone who has fallen on ice can suffer serious consequences, such as broken limbs.
If your employees are walking along private roads or paths on your property that won't be gritted by the council, or if there are outdoor areas of your work premises that are icy, it's important that you, as an employer, take the necessary steps to minimise the risk of accidents.
There is a duty of care, on business premises, to take reasonable care that those using your land can do so safely, whether they are staff or customers. Businesses wish to encourage customers to enter their premises, so it's important to make access easier in icy conditions by spreading either salt or the necessary ice-melting products.
We sell a large range of snow ploughs and salt spreaders, providing site safety in every industry. For larger areas, try our vehicle-mounted, professional, two-speed spreader that can be attached to any standard hitch, or to a forklift truck, making it perfect for construction sites.
