First Aid Bandages & Tapes

First aid is a major concern in the workplace and in order to comply with regulations, businesses need to ensure that they have the right quantity of first aid supplies on site to deal with any emergencies.

The size of the first aid kit on the premises will need to cover the number of people that work there, so the larger the company, the greater the quantity of supplies required. Many businesses opt to have different kits in different places in the building. If there is a staff canteen for example, a small first aid kit should be placed there.

All first aid bandages and dressings should be top quality and sterile. Standard first aid dressings will have unmedicated pads and will be able to protect wounds from any infection. The dressing can be held in place by a bandage and the dressings come in multipacks – ideal for topping up first aid kits if any dressings have been used. Other items that might be needed in the first aid kits include tubular finger bobs, ideal for helping wounds to heal. Injured fingers are easily protected and cushioned with these and they are very easy to apply. These are bandages made from rolled gauze, which can be used to stop bleeding or to hold splints in place if a break is suspected. The finger bob will stop any dirt from getting into the wound and can also be used to help to protect the fingers from old injuries.
